Caldari: Ship Explaination

I'm a caldari pilot from civire bloodline. Caldari states are based on unification of several big corporation to form a new states that detach themselves from Gallente Federation. After wages long years of war to liberate ourselves against gallente, we achieved at last independence with great loss and sacrifice. You can check our history more here.

Caldari ship are suited and design on long range engagement from frigate class to their battleship class. Their weapons of choice is either missiles (Caracal, Drake, Raven) and hybrid (Harpy, Moa and Rokh) gun. Their defensive capability especially their cruiser and upward focus on shield tanking . This can be seen in their Moa class cruiser, Ferox and Drake class battlecruiser, and their majestic Raven and Rokh class battleship.

Missiles based weapons able to switch damage type although it takes 10 seconds to reload. This feature is great on doing missions for npc corp like the Caldari Navy, Kaalakiota, Ishukone and many others even non caldari races corp. In combat (PvP) missile have some disadvantage in fleet warfare due to delay of missiles reaching its target. These does not stop Raven class battleship to excel although not the best ship in small gang engagement. With the unveil of Rokh class battleship that use hybrid, Caldari races got a fleet ship of their own and to make it good, is the most long range sniping ship in all EvE universe.

Caldari electronic warfare specialty is availability of some ECM boat such as Blackbird class cruiser and Scorpion class battleship if not counted with all the caldari force recon. ECM modules can jammed a ship making it unable to lock and fire weapons that require targetting. The downside of these ship is inability of dishing lots of damage to its target.Automatically make these ship require assistance from friendly pilot to finish out target quickly. After RMR patch, ECM works as chance based module. There calculation at work that will decide a jammer cycle capability to jam. Its a very useful ship in a fleet since it can disable several ship firepower unable them to fire upon friendly pilot.

To say it short although caldari ship can be fitted with short range weapons, its excels in long range, shield tanking ship.
